How to Activate / Pair Child App on Android

Welcome to the FamilyTime installation guide for Android. In the guide, we assume that you have signed up for FamilyTime account and have received your Welcome Email with activation and login details. Through this guide, we will guide you to activate FamilyTime Child App on Android phone and how to pair it with your FamilyTime parent’s account.

If you haven’t signed up for FamilyTime Account yet, no problem! You can do it now. Click on the button below to create your FamilyTime account.

Things Required Before You Proceed

Make sure you have everything in hand before you proceed!
  • The Android device must be running Android OS 4.4 and above. Click here to check the Android version.
  • The Android device must be connected to the Internet throughout installation.
  • You need to have physical access to the child's device to install FamilyTime.
  • You must have FamilyTime account in good standing. If you don't have account please Sign Up now.
  • You have to add at least one child device on your FamilyTime – Dashboard to get started. Learn more about how you can do it.
  • You need to have activation code to activate / pair the child device with your FamilyTime account. Learn more about locating the activation code.

Step-By-Step Installation Guide


Go to the browser on your child’s device and go to


Enter your login details that you received in welcome email from FamilyTime.


You will notice that the app downloading has started.


Once the download is complete, go to Downloads and tap on“”

Note: If you are not able to install FamilyTime App, please install from Downloads folder of child's phone. You can locate Downloads folder through any File Explorer Tool like (Files/My Files/File Explorer/File Manager etc).


Tap Extract button.

Note: Some devices extracts zip files automatically.


Tap familytime folder.


Tap familytime.apk to install child app.


Tap Install button to begin the installation process.


Wait for the installation to complete.


Congratulations! The app has been successfully installed. Tap Open to launch the app.


The app requires you to agree to Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy . Tap I Agree to proceed.


The app tour will initiate. The app will ask you to access certain data, tap Next and proceed.


The app will seek permission to access phone location and contacts. Tap Next.


You will now be asked to permit the app to access Web bookmarks and USB storage. Tap I Agree and proceed.


Enter the activation code for the child account and tap Activate Child Account.

Tip: The activation code can be located in email sent to you or on your FamilyTime - Dashboard. Learn more about locating activation code.


Tap Activate button to proceed.


Child app activated successfully! If your child’s device runs on Android OS 5.0 Lollipop or above, you will have to allow the app to use the App Usage Statistics. Tap Take Me There button to proceed.


Select FamilyTime and toggle to right to enable usage access.


All done! FamilyTime has been successfully installed and paired with your FamilyTime parent’s account! Exit the settings and launch the app from your home screen.
