Detailed account of information we collect when you use our app and how we use it

This App Privacy Policy was last modified on March 28th, 2015.

We make available software to access the Service via a mobile device (“Mobile Software”). To use the Mobile Software you must have a mobile device that is compatible with the Mobile Service. We do not warrant that the Mobile Software will be compatible with your mobile device.

Mobile Software

We hereby grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use a compiled code copy of the Mobile Software for the account owned or leased solely by you, for your personal use. You may not: (i) modify, disassemble, decompile or reverse engineer the Mobile Software, except to the extent that such restriction is expressly prohibited by law; (ii) rent, lease, loan, resell, sublicense, distribute or otherwise transfer the Mobile Software to any third party or use the Mobile Software to provide time sharing or similar services for any third party; (iii) make any copies of the Mobile Software; (iv) remove, circumvent, disable, damage or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the Mobile Software, features that prevent or restrict use or copying of any content accessible through the Mobile Software, or features that enforce limitations on use of the Mobile Software; or (v) delete the copyright and other proprietary rights notices on the Mobile Software. You acknowledge that we may from time to time issue upgraded versions of the Mobile Software, and may automatically electronically upgrade the version of the Mobile Software that you are using on your mobile device. You consent to such automatic upgrading on your mobile device, and agree that the terms and conditions of this Agreement will apply to all such upgrades. Any third-party code that may be incorporated in the Mobile Software is covered by the applicable open source or third-party license EULA, if any, authorizing use of such code. The foregoing license grant is not a sale of the Mobile Software or any copy thereof, and we or our third party partners or suppliers retain all right, title, and interest in the Mobile Software (and any copy thereof). Any attempt by you to transfer any of the rights, duties or obligations hereunder, except as expressly provided for in this Agreement, is void. We reserve all rights not expressly granted under this Agreement.

FamilyTime Vs FamilyTime Dashboard

We offer two versions of the application – one for children, FamilyTime, and one for the parents, FamilyTime Dashboard.

FamilyTime Dashboard

FamilyTime Dashboard is parent’s dashboard from which they can monitor their children or the one who they are legal guardians of. It is a dashboard that lets parents view and manage their child’s device usage ad whereabouts. FamilyTime Dashboard can also be accessed via Web as well as from the app that can be installed on any mobile device.
FamilyTime Dashboard does not collect any information or log data from the mobile device or computer from which it is being used except for the user’s personal information including the name and email address, which the user has consented being logged.  FamilyTime Dashboard does not collect information like call history, contacts, browser history, installed apps and location details of the Parents using this version of the app. If you think we have unwittingly collected information like call history, contacts, browser history, installed apps and location details from FamilyTime Dashboard users, please notify immediately on

To use FamilyTime Dashboard; You warrant that you are 18 years of age or older or any other person for whom you are not the legal guardian; You will not use the Site or Service in violation of any Federal, State or local law, rule, ordinance or governmental regulation; You will only use the Site and Service to monitor the mobile device and location of children for whom you are the legal guardian; You will properly follow all instructions and documentation provided by FamilyTime to you; You will not allow any other person to access the information that the Site and Service collect from the mobile devices on which the Software is installed; and, You will only install the application in mobile devices for which you are the authorized owner.

More than one parent profiles can be added to your FamilyCircle and for each parent profile; the application will behave the same, i.e. will not log or pull any device data.

FamilyTime (On Child’s Device)

FamilyTime, on the other hand, resides on the child’s mobile device and pulls data (call history, contacts, browser history, installed apps and location details) from the device and makes it accessible to the FamilyTime Dashboard. FamilyTime also lets the child to manage user profile and send SOS and PickMeUp alerts to their parent(s). FamilyTime needs to be installed on child’s mobile device in order to log information and device data and make it accessible to FamilyTime Dashboard.  FamilyTime can only be used by logging into the app and children cannot use it from the Web.

Google Play

 The following applies to any Mobile Software you acquire from Google Play,, and is incorporated by reference herein.

iTunes Store

The following applies to any Mobile Software you acquire from the iTunes Store (“iTunes-Sourced Software”); You acknowledge and agree that this Agreement is solely between you and us, not Apple, and that Apple has no responsibility for the iTunes-Sourced Software or content thereof. Your use of the iTunes-Sourced Software must comply with the App Store Terms of Service. You acknowledge that Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the iTunes-Sourced Software. In the event of any failure of the iTunes-Sourced Software to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the iTunes-Sourced Software to you; to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the iTunes-Sourced Software, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be solely governed by this Agreement and any law applicable to us as provider of the software. You acknowledge that Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims of you or any third party relating to the iTunes-Sourced Software or your possession and/or use of the iTunes-Sourced Software, including, but not limited to: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the iTunes-Sourced Software fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation; and all such claims are governed solely by this Agreement and any law applicable to us as provider of the software. You acknowledge that, in the event of any third party claim that the iTunes-Sourced Software or your possession and use of that iTunes-Sourced Software infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim to the extent required by this Agreement. You and us acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple’s subsidiaries, are third party beneficiaries of this Agreement as relates to your license of the iTunes-Sourced Software, and that, upon your acceptance of the terms and conditions of this Agreement, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce this Agreement as relates to your license of the iTunes-Sourced Software against you as a third party beneficiary thereof.

How We Collect and Use Information

We collect the following types of information about you:

Information we collect from you directly:

FamilyTime Dashboard

Personal Information

When you create an account with FamilyTime Dashboard, we may collect your personal information such as your username, first and last name, email address.

If you want to add a child or family member’s name to your account, we collect the child or family member’s name, email address, and child’s age. We may collect billing information when you sign up for FamilyTime Premium service. We may collect additional information from a parent in order to obtain verifiable parental consent to allow a child under 13 to use our Service. Messages and User Content

We collect information when you message other members of your Family through use of the service. We may also retain any messages you send to us.

We use this information to operate, maintain, and provide to you the features and functionality of the Service and to communicate directly with you, such as to send you alerts on the movements of your Family members, crime alerts in your neighborhood, etc. You can control your receipt of email and text alerts by visiting “Settings” and “Alert Options” within the mobile app. We may also send you Service-related emails (e.g., account verification, parental consent notification, order confirmations, change or updates to features of the Service, technical and security notices). You may not opt-out of Service-related e-mails.

FamilyTime (On Child’s Device)

FamilyTime (meant for child’s mobile device) collects and provides you access to certain cell phone and online activities (including, but not limited to, call history, contacts, Internet browser history, installed apps, location history) from your child’s phone or tablet on which the FamilyTime software is installed (the “Accessed Activities”).

Data collected through use of the Service

FamilyTime will pull the following information (Accessed Activities) from the child’s mobile device and make it accessible to the FamilyTime Dashboard:


We collect your location through GPS, WiFi, or wireless network triangulation in order to obtain your location for the purposes of providing our Service. We collect the location of your designated “Places” to provide alerts when family members arrive and leave. While you are logged in to your account, we will continue to collect your location information in order to provide the Service. We maintain location information only so long as is reasonable to provide the Service and then destroy the location data.
There are two types of location information that will be logged by FamilyTime – approximate location (network-based) and precise location (GPS and network-based). Location history will be turned on for this device and will be accessible to the FamilyTime Dashboard account connected with this account. FamilyTime will access your information even when you’re not using it. FamilyTime will turn on the location sharing option on your device even if you turn it off manually.

Call Logs and Contacts

We will collect call history and contacts saved in the child’s phone or tablet. We will collect the incoming and outgoing calls, the name and number of caller (if it’s saved in the device) and the time and date for each call.
All contact saved in the device of your child will be logged along with details like names and any associated e-mail IDs.
FamilyTime will pull all contacts and phone call history when you sign into the app the first time. If some contact is deleted from the FamilyTime app residing in this app, it will not get deleted from our servers and therefore will continue to be accessible on the FamilyTime Dashboard account connected with this account. Any contact added or subsequent calls will be uploaded to the server after every 20 minutes to our servers.

Internet Bookmarks and Browser History

FamilyTime will log the online bookmarks and browser history on the device’s primary browser. All websites browsed on your child’s device along with complete URLs and time & date stamps will be logged.
Internet history and bookmarks will only be logged from the device’s native browser – the browser that comes pre-installed on the device. Any other browser that is installed from the app store will not be logged. Any Internet browsing will be logged if it’s not deleted within 5 minutes of being browsing and shall be permanently accessible on our servers to the FamilyTime Dashboard.

Calendar and Alarm

FamilyTime will access the calendar and alarm apps on the child’s mobile device.

Information we receive about you from others:

Social Media

When you interact with our site through various social media, such as when you Like us on Facebook or post a comment to our Facebook page, we may receive information from the social network such as your profile information, profile picture, gender, user name, user ID associated with your social media account, age range, language, country, friends list, and any other information you permit the social network to share with third parties. The data we receive is dependent upon your privacy settings with the social network. You should always review, and if necessary, adjust your privacy settings on third-party websites and services before linking or connecting them to FamilyTime’s website or Service.
Information we collect automatically through the use of technology:
When you visit our website or use our mobile app, we and our business partners may collect certain information about your computer or device through technology such as cookies, web beacons, log files, or other tracking/recording tools. The information we collect through the use of tracking technologies includes, but is not limited to, IP address, browser information, referring/exit pages and URLs, click stream data and how you interact with links on the website, mobile app, or Service, domain names, landing pages, page views, cookie data that allows us to uniquely identify your browser, browsing behavior on our site, mobile device type, mobile device IDs or other persistent identifiers, and location data collected from your mobile device. Some or all of this data may be combined with other personally identifying information described above. We use this information to:

  • Remember information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you visit the site or mobile app,
  • Provide custom, personalized content and information,
  • Monitor the effectiveness of our Service and our marketing campaigns,
  • Monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors, users, traffic, and demographic patterns,
  • Diagnose or fix technology problems reported by our Users or engineers that are associated with certain IP addresses or User IDs, and
  • Automatically update our mobile application on your system and related devices.

We will not rent or sell your personal information to third parties outside the Company and its controlled subsidiaries and affiliates without your consent, except as noted below:
We share your information, including name, email and location, with others within your FamilyTime FamilyCircles.
We may share your personal information with our third-party business partners, vendors and consultants who perform services on our behalf, such as accounting, managerial, technical, marketing or analytic services. These business partners will be given access to your information as necessary to deliver the Service under reasonable confidentiality terms.

Any information or content that you voluntarily post to the website or to our Facebook page will automatically be available to the public. We may publicly post your reviews and comments online on our website or mobile app, or link your reviews to third party websites.
We may aggregate or otherwise strip data of all personally identifying characteristics of our data and may share that aggregated, anonymized data with third parties.

We may at any time buy or sell/divest the company, or any combination of its products, services, assets and/or businesses. Personal information such as customer names and email addresses, and other user information related to the Service will likely be one of the items transferred in these types of transactions. We may also transfer or assign such information in the course of corporate divestitures, mergers, acquisitions, bankruptcies, dissolutions or similar transactions or proceedings.

Except as described above, we will not disclose personal information to third parties (including law enforcement, other government entity, or civil litigant; excluding our subcontractors) unless required to do so by law or subpoena or if in our sole discretion, we determine it is necessary to (a) conform to the law, comply with legal process, or investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected or actual illegal activities; (b) to enforce our Terms and Conditions, take precautions against liability, to investigate and defend ourselves against any claims or allegations, or to protect the security or integrity of our site; and/or (c) to exercise or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of FamilyTime, our Users or others.

How We Protect Your Information

FamilyTime cares about the security of your information and uses commercially reasonable physical, administrative, and technological safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of all information we collect and that we share with our service providers. However, no security system is impenetrable and we cannot guarantee the security of our systems 100%. In the event that any information under our control is compromised as a result of a breach of security, we will take reasonable steps to investigate the situation and where appropriate, notify those individuals whose information may have been compromised and take other steps, in accordance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Your Choices About Your Information

You may, of course, decline to submit any personal information through the Service, in which case FamilyTime may not be able to provide its Services to you.

Modifying Your Account Information and Settings

You may modify your account information, update or amend your personal information, or change your password at any time by logging in to your account. You can also stop receiving promotional email communications from us by clicking on the “unsubscribe link” provided in such communications. We make every effort to promptly process all unsubscribe requests. As noted above, you may not opt out of Service-related communications (e.g., account verification, parental consent notification, order confirmations, change or updates to features of the Service, technical and security notices). Opting Out of Collection of Tracking Data

The only way to completely “opt out” of the collection of any information through cookies or other tracking technology is to actively manage the settings on your browser. Children’s Privacy

We do not communicate with nor sell products or services to children. Children under the age of 13 may not submit personal information to FamilyTime without the consent of their parents. You must be at least 18 years old to obtain an account on this site.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children or sell any products to children. We take children's privacy seriously, and encourage the legal guardians of children to play an active role in their children's online experience at all times. FamilyTime provides you, as a legal guardian of a child or children under the age of 18, with the ability to collect and access the Accessed Activities.
Our Service allows parents to keep track of their children’s location on mobile devices that the Parent has added to the Family account. The Service is intended to be used by children under 13 only with significant parental involvement and approval. If a Parent wishes to add a User who is under 13 to the Family account, the Parent must first complete the Parental Consent Form and return it via mail, fax or email. FamilyTime may, in its sole discretion, modify or update this Privacy Policy from time to time, and so you should review this page periodically. When we change the policy, we will update the ‘last modified’ date at the top of this page. You are advised that it is considered a violation of United States federal and/or state law in most instances to install surveillance software, such as the FamilyTime Software, onto a mobile phone or other device for which you do not have proper authorization, and in most cases you are required to notify users of the device that they are being monitored. Failure to do so is likely to result in violation of applicable law and may result in severe monetary and criminal penalties imposed on the violator.
